A Sugarcane Loco --for Kota

This one isn’t a request actually, but a gift. Kota is one of those under-appreciated artists who come up with a lot of cool stuff, and in an unusual medium to boot. I was immediately smitten by one of his designs in particular, an engine with elegant old proportions and a spiffy two-tone green paint scheme: [link] I knew I wanted to draw it. It took me two tries to get this drawing the way I wanted it to look— the first attempt, which followed the Lego proportions quite literally, looked awkward. My second attempt was drawn much looser and with a prototype inspiration thrown in, and, I think, captures the beauty of Kota’s creation. I hope you like it.
