NNR No. 1 --for A.J. and Nakea

This is a joint request that A.J. and Nakea made about two months ago. I should have finished this much, much sooner, but I put the project on the shelf for a while. BUT, as promised, it is "the next thing I posted.”

Anyway— Naturita Northerly No. 1 is a 3-foot gauge loco based on a Lionel G-scale 0-6-0T (a model that I happen to love) but with an updated design by me that gives it more realistic proportions and era-appropriate steam loco appliances, as per request. The Gothic arched windows on Lionel’s model seemed like a signature detail, so I took that theme and ran with it— I incorporated Gothic arches from the decorative smokestack rim to the spokes of the wheels, and anywhere in between that they seemed appropriate.

Because this engine was described to me as a GSBW product “in canon,” I also incorporated the signature touches of that builder into the design, such as the bald smokebox front with side handle and some of the ornamental trim paint. Otherwise, the paint scheme is also as requested.


So sorry for the wait, guys... but I hope you like it. I’m rather proud of it.
