With a population of about forty, Mary’s Bay is just one of the many little fishing settlements along the route of the AB&C. Here, the tracks follow a horseshoe-shaped cutting between the steep seaside cliffs and the shallow beach of the bay (which is home to a tiny marina and fish shack) before hooking back along the rest of the shoreline... both the train and boats provide access to the outside world for residents here, bringing them to supplies as much as they bring supplies to the residents. Just off to the right of this picture, at the end of the point and across a short footbridge, is a great lighthouse and keeper’s residence on a tiny little island.

And so... I finally finished that scene of the AB&C I've been meaning to do forever! This picture was traced out on two sheets of paper and in three parts... I didn’t make much of an effort blending the pieces together, because somehow the border lines added a bit of character (as well as sectioning off the most interesting part of the scene ;)). The number plate on the front of No. 4 was Sampug’s idea, in a way... I originally imagined an older-looking smokebox front, but I based it instead on his rendition (in sprite form), which actually looked pretty cool. :)

Nonsense, heavy industry is just as beautiful as any tropical island! :D But, sometimes it is also nice to kick back and enjoy the simple side of railroading, too... a single track, light rail, and some archaic infrastructure is sometimes all you need!

And anyway, thank you very much. :D

I think she would have had more charicture without the numberplate. The numberplate would have been nice with a headlamp, but without it just kinda looks like a sore thumb.

Ouside that I think this is a marviluse peace! The whole atmpspher of it is just so...ahh I want to be there. I can just hear those wheels squileing around that curve!

and I'm adoring those stairs leading to the track leval!

I dunno, that's kinda what appealed to me about the plate... its "out-of-placeness." XD It almost looks too modern for the engine... as if someone replaced the smokebox front over the years, and the plate came with it. But eh, to each their own. :D

But anyway, thanks much!! And yeah, the stairs seem almost like a parody of what you'd expect to find at a big city station, now that you mention it... XD
